Dennis Gomes is going to buy Resorts in Atlantic City

Dennis Gomes, a longtime player in online gambling, has announced about his decision to buy the financially troubled Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.

Gomes has operated the casino in Las Vegas in 1980s and 1990s. Recently he has returned home in Atlantic City. He acquired the aging property through his privately held Gomes Gaming Inc., which he manages with his son, Aaron. In Las Vegas, Gomes has worked for the Hilton Corp., He has managed the Dunes Hotel, and has run the Golden Nugget for Steve Wynn. When Gomes left Wynn to run Donald Trump's Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City in the early 1990s, the volatile legal struggle between Wynn and Trump has begun. At last Trump has won Gomes' services.

Gomes also has been the head of Aztar Corp. 'S Atlantic City development and is credited with reviving the Tropicana Atlantic City. The company was sold to Columbia Sussex in 2005 and Gomes has since operated his own gaming consultant group.

Gomes has managed 14 casinos for 28 years of his work in the gaming industry.

Gomes has operated the Nevada Gaming Control Board and later he has become the Chief of Special Investigations for the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. Atlantic City has been in crisis for the last 23 months, its profit is reduced regularly. But Dennis Gomes believes firmly in the best future and he is sure that though Atlantic City is living hard times now, everything will get right and he will try to do best for it. The purchase price is unknown.

Atlantic City Resorts is 942 cozy and comfortable full-equipped hotel rooms and suites in two towers, a 100,000 square foot casino and other facilities, including 45,000 square feet of convention space.
